Wamiqa Gabbi reveals how she bagged a role in Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor starrer Jab We Met

Actress Wamiqa Gabbi recently addressed her brief performance in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met. Gabbi is currently basking in the popularity of her Vikramaditya Motwane-helmed series Jubilee on Prime Video. She made her acting debut in the 2007 movie Jab We Met with Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, in which she portrayed one of Geet’s cousins. Wamiqa Gabbi was still an adolescent at the time. She discussed how she got the job in the most recent interview.

A recent tweet included a 15-second video clip, to which Wamiqa Gabbi, who was referenced in the message, replied, “Oh no.” When Wamiqa Gabbi returned home with Aditya (played by Shahid Kapoor), whom the family believed to be her fiancé, in the video, she was seen mischievously teasing her older cousin Geet (played by Kareena Kapoor).

Wamiqa recently discussed how she got a part in Jab We Met in a DNA interview. “I shot for Jab We Met when I was in eighth grade,” she remarked. At the academy where I was taking dance lessons, the owner was essentially in charge of organizing the Hindi movies that were filmed in Punjab. I was asked if I would be interested in playing one of Kareena’s younger sisters in a movie that stars Shahid and Kareena after he informed my father and I about it. I affirmed. This was my first chance to visit a movie set. Sure, I would love to be there, I responded. Just being on the set and learning how movies are made would be amazing. the’s how I seized the opportunity.

Jubilee, an Amazon Prime series, is where Wamiqa last appeared. She played Niloufer Qureshi, a courtesan from Lucknow who relocates to Bombay in order to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. Vishal Bhardwaj’s next Netflix film Khufiya, which stars Tabu and Ali Fazal, will now feature her in a collaborative project.
