Thevar Magan Sequel by Kamal Haasan and Mahesh Narayanan has been postponed, according to sources.

Actor Kamal Haasan was meant to work with director Mahesh Narayanan on a still-untitled movie that was revealed last year. However, Haasan is now busy filming for Shankar’s next masterpiece, “Indian 2.” Reliable sources have now confirmed that the movie has been shelved as a result of an agreement between the actor and the director.

Mahesh worked as the editor for Kamal Haasan’s films Vishwaroopam and Vishwaroopam 2 for the first time. Kamal Haasan has expressed interest in working with Mahesh after being impressed by his most recent Malayalam film, Malik. It was revealed last year that the pair would collaborate on a movie.

The project has reportedly been abandoned due to creative disagreements. “Yes, Mahesh’s film starring Kamal Haasan won’t be made. They had intended to begin filming as soon as Vikram was out because it was to be Thevar Magan’s sequel. However, due to creative disagreements, they have both amicably chosen to halt the film, a source close to Haasan told Hindustan Times. Kamal and Sivaji Ganesan acted in the 1992 film Thevar Magan. The critically praised movie, which was nominated for five National Awards, was eventually adapted in Kannada as Thandege Thakka Maga and in Hindi as Virasat.

The next Malayalam film directed by Mahesh, Ariyippu, will debut on Netflix on December 16 after receiving its international premiere at the 75th Locarno Film Festival.

In the movie Ariyippu, which also stars Kunchacko Boban, Divyaprabha, and Danish Hussain, a couple working in a factory must deal with a dilemma after a scandalous video is revealed.

On the other hand, Kamal Haasan is about to finish Indian 2. Additionally, Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simhaa, and Priya Bhavani Shankar have significant roles in the Lyca Productions-financed movie. After then, Kamal will finally see director Mani Ratnam again after 35 years. A statement confirming the pair’s reunion from their previous collaboration on the Tamil mafia drama Nayakan was released last month.
