Shershaah: Salman and director Karan Johar were in negotiations for a thrilling project that would hit theaters on Eid in 2024. According to a reliable source in the industry who informed us of the development, Salman was considering many scripts but had a particular interest in one from Dharma Productions.
The film in question would be a big-budget comedy that would do credit to Salman Khan and his Eid releases special, however, details were kept securely under wraps at the time. We’ve heard that Salman and Karan have made some progress on the idea, so that’s good. According to a source who spoke to Bollywood Hungama, “Discussions between the two have been ongoing for some time; in fact, the most recent information indicates that director of the film Shershaah Vishnu Vardhan has reportedly been selected to helm the project. Even though everyone involved has yet to sign on the proverbial dotted line, development has been consistent. In response to a question about the movie, the source continues, “The movie will mark Salman Khan and Karan Johar’s reunion following a 25-year hiatus. Although there were rumors that the actor had signed on for Shuddhi, the project never truly took off. Given this information and the project’s Eid release date, the producers will undoubtedly make every effort to ensure its magnificence.
The source says, “Eid has now become synonymous with the release of a Salman Khan film,” in reference to the project and final release. It has kind of turned into a ritual. The release of this movie is anticipated for Eid 2024. And who better than Shershaah Vishnu Vardhan, who not only directed Shershaah but has already given us some fairly entertaining films in the south business, to assure its mass appeal and entertainment value?
Salman Khan is now basking in the success of his most recent film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, but the upcoming project with Karan is reportedly still in the early phases of development. It’s interesting to note that in addition to this project, Salman will appear later this year in Maneesh Sharma’s Tiger 3 from the YRF spy world.
