Scam 2003: The Telgi Story

The 3rd anniversary of Sony LIV 2.0’s launching is being commemorated by the publication of Scam 2003: The Telgi Story. On September 2, 2023, the portal will start broadcasting the eagerly anticipated series. The Hindi book “Reporter Ki Diary” by journalist and news reporter Sanjay Singh, who is credited with first reporting on the scam at the time, served as the inspiration for the series.

Scam 2003: The Telgi Story tells the tale of Abdul Karim Telgi’s 2003 Stamp Paper Scam. The series looks to be an interesting watch as it follows Abdul Karim Telgi’s life from his birth in Khanapur, Karnataka, to his rise to the top of one of India’s most brilliant frauds that spanned over 18 states and shocked the entire nation. The scam’s value was allegedly in the neighborhood of Rs. 20,000 crores.

The show enlists author Sanjay Singh and writer Kiran Yadnyopavit, who is renowned for his contributions to the Marathi cinema industry, to write and develop the plot. Production of Scam 2003 is handled by Studio Next and Applause Entertainment. Tushar Hiranandani and Hansal Mehta are the show’s creators and directors, respectively. Scam 2003: The Telgi Story will debut on Sony LIV on September 2, 2023.
