Everyone has taken notice of Palak Tiwari’s recent comments regarding the clothing code enforced by Salman Khan for women on the Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan sets. Palak Tiwari is the daughter of television actress Shweta Tiwari. The actress claimed in a recent interview that Salman Khan allegedly told the women to cover up like respectable women for their own protection. This assertion, however, drew attention, and internet users questioned Salman Khan’s dress code policy for ladies on the set.

In a statement clarifying her position, Palak Tiwari stated, “It’s truly been misinterpreted. The only thing I wanted to add is that I have set up rules for myself regarding how to dress around individuals who are much older than me and who I have pretty much grown up idolizing. Of course, Salman Sir is one of them.

Palak recalls helping out on the Antim sets when speaking with Siddharth Kannan. Salman Sir had a rule: “Ki koi bhi ladki mere set pe, neckline should be here (for every girl on my set, the neckline should be here), all the girls should be covered, like good proper girls,” which I don’t think many people are aware of. My mother thus observed me as I was about to set up, complete with joggers and a respectable shirt. Where are you going? she asked. How did you get dressed so nicely? I proclaimed that I will be at Salman Sir’s set. Wow, really wonderful, was her reaction, she recalled.

He is a traditionalist, she continued. Naturally, he says “Jo pehenna hai pehno” (Dress whichever you like), but he also constantly says “My girls should always be protected.” He doesn’t trust anyone in his personal space, so if there are any males present that she doesn’t know, he says, “The girl should always be safe.”
