On the occasion of Navratri, director Om Raut, and producer Bhushan Kumar paid a visit to the revered Vaishno Devi temple to seek blessings for their upcoming, eagerly anticipated movie Adipurush, which stars Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in the key parts. Vaishno Devi, which is located in Jammu and Kashmir, is one of the most important pilgrimage places in India for the uninitiated.
“Remarking the creation of the universe and the beginning of the world by Maa Shri Durga, Chaitra Navratri holds enormous significance in the Hindu tradition,” the statement from the film’s creators Om Raut read. With this belief and Shri Gulshan Kumar’s immense faith in Maa Vaishno Devi, the makers seek divine blessings for Adipurush.”
Ramayana, one of the greatest Indian epics, is told in Adipurush. Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh, and Saif Ali Khan will all play Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Raavan, respectively, in the movie.
In an interview with the news outlet PTI (Press Trust of India) earlier this year, Kriti said more about the movie, saying, “The entire team is incredibly pleased with it. I sincerely hope and pray that others will share my pride in it. It is something that is so important to all of us. Simply put, it is much more than a movie to us. I hope it gets its due. It probably will, I think. The telling of these stories is crucial. Children can learn from it. I believe that today’s kids would not have seen it if I hadn’t seen it back then, said Om Raut.
