Online food delivery service Zomato said on Friday that co-founder Mohit Gupta has left his position.

In 2020, Gupta, who had joined Zomato four and a half years earlier, was promoted from CEO of the company’s meal delivery division to co-founder.

Gupta served as the chief operational officer of the travel website Makemytrip prior to joining Zomato.

Gupta announced in a message to Zomato that he is “deciding to move on from Zomato to seek the other unknown adventures that life holds for me” that the business shared on the BSE.

While making the voluntary disclosure of his resignation, Zomato claimed that Gupta was not recognised as key managerial staff under the 2013 Companies Act and the listing regulations.
