Mobile World Congress 2023: MediaTek To Showcase 5G, Satellite Communications Tech

Mobile World Congress 2023

At the Mobile World Congress 2023 (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, chipmaker MediaTek will present its new 5G demonstrations, Dimensity, Filogic, Genio, Kompanio, and Pentonic portfolios. The chipset manufacturer, which has its headquarters in Hsinchu, Taiwan, will also showcase products from some of the biggest brands in the globe as well as its satellite communications platform.

In collaboration with Ericsson, the business claimed that it would also showcase 5G mmWave beam technology to enhance connection performance and reliability. Using Keysight 5G Network Emulation Solutions, MediaTek will demonstrate its 5G UltraSave for mmWave and describe how its solution optimizes hardware and software design to prolong battery life during high-speed data transfer for a variety of 5G-enabled devices.

Smartphones and other devices can now use MediaTek’s 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) solution, which is based on 3GPP standards. Visitors to the MWC can examine some of the most recent smartphones running MediaTek’s NTN solutions at the company’s booth. Moreover, MediaTek will give a first-look demonstration of its newest New Radio NTN (NR-NTN) technology.

It should be mentioned that the world’s largest manufacturer of chipsets, Qualcomm, signed a contract with Iridium last month in an effort to give premium next-generation Android devices satellite-based connection.

In addition, MediaTek would emphasize at MWC how its Dimensity 9200 processor elevates top smartphones “to the next level.” In the demos, MediaTek’s hardware tracing support, Intelligent Display Sync 3.0, which dynamically adjusts refresh rate, and Intelligent Picture Semantic Segmentation, which enhances image quality with multi-person segmentation and multi-layer color management, are all included.

The Vivo X90 and X90 Pro are two of the most recent flagship smartphones that work with the Dimensity 9200. Samsung and OnePlus, two smartphone OEMs, however, have partnered with competitor Qualcomm to introduce their most recent flagship Galaxy S23 series and OnePlus 11 line devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
