Manoj Bajpayee: Since a few years ago, the term “nepotism” has gained popularity in India and has also been a contentious debate topic. Several celebrities have publicly opposed the notion, but some have spoken out in favor of it. Speaking of the subject, renowned actor Manoj Bajpayee gave his opinion on it this time. He claimed that movie theaters, which frequently practice discrimination, are the fundamental issue.

Nepotism is a big problem, Bajpayee said in his discussion with ANI, adding, “Nepotism je bhaut bekaar ki behes hai” (Nepotism is a pointless debate in the Indian film industry)… The majority of the time, it has to do with the relationships and connections that one forges. You want to collaborate with someone more if you feel comfortable around them. If someone wants to cast his family in the movie in place of me, then let it be. Agar woh meri jagah kisi tayaji ke ladke ko lene jaa rahe hai film me toh le. As it is their choice, people are free to act as they like.

The 53-year-old actor continued to elaborate on his viewpoint by saying, “The primary issue is with movie theaters. Often, exhibitors are prejudiced. If 25 of 100 screens were to be used, what would happen to the remaining 100? Usi ko dedoge toh mera kya? (When you give him 100 screens, give at least 25 to me.) Jo jitna powerful hota hai woh apna power ka wheel utna ghumata rehta hai. Will you offer him everything? One tries to establish themselves more the more strong they are.

On the professional front, Manoj Bajpayee was preoccupied with marketing his most recent film, the family drama Gulmohar, which is currently available on Disney+ Hotstar. Together with him, it also includes Sharmila Tagore and Amol Palekar.
