A temporary injunction prohibiting CTR Nirmal Kumar from disparaging Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) minister Senthil Balaji in any remarks, statements, tweets, etc. until the next court date was issued by the Madras High Court on Thursday.

Justice C. V. Karthikeyan issued the ruling.Kumar is in charge of the BJP’s information technology wing in Tamil Nadu. Currently, Balaji is in charge of power, prohibition, and excise.

In a plea to the HC, Balaji claimed that the head of the BJP’s IT wing was frequently slandering him on Twitter and in media interviews by making “vexatious and slanderous charges” without any evidence.

Balaji’s attorneys, DMK MP P Wilson and the plaintiff’s senior council, asserted that unfounded accusations defame the minister and undermine his standing.He said that in the previous six months, Kumar’s “defamation campaign” had not been supported by any tangible proof.

Wilson claims that Nirmal has accused Balaji of being involved in corruption in his media interviews.

Kumar has claimed that Balaji is connected to the TASMAC (Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited) stores, which are selling bottles of alcohol above the MRP without a license.
