Lust Stories 2 director Amit Sharma on casting Kajol opposite Kumud Mishra: “The story needed them”

Lust Stories 2

Amit Sharma, who directed the section of Lust Stories 2 starring Kajol and Kumud Mishra, spoke candidly about his experience working on the movie before it was released. He gave his opinions on the casting of his part while adding that he wanted to do something outside of his “comfort zone.” The two performers’ participation in his short film, according to Amit, was fortuitous because “the story needed them.”

All of this transpired during his PTI interview. “I wanted to do something that I haven’t done,” Sharma stated. None of the comfort zones, including Tevar, Badhaai Ho, and Maidaan (which are all distinct), have ever been mine. The most crucial point is that I promised the producers, Ashi Dua and Ronnie Screwvala, that if I found the story for Lust Stories 2, I would make this. I made it and found it.

Regarding the casting, Sharma continued, “This is one of my favorites of everything I have produced thus far. It was quite challenging to come up with a cast, but I came up with these two, and they agreed.

As the discussion went on, Sharma recalled that he had been “hesitant initially” about filming a kissing sequence in his previous project, Badhaai Ho, until Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra personally approached him about it. It all depends on the story and script, he said. How much you must display and how much you need to display. I have to satisfy the requirements of my story. I’ll limit myself to it. It wouldn’t fit the movie if I was reluctant to show it.

“And if that scene (in Badhaai Ho) had not been there, then it would have lost out on the essence of their relationship,” the Delhi-based filmmaker remarked. It was essential. I then realized that it is my responsibility. It is their job, even for the actors.
