The Kannada action drama Kabzaa’s streaming debut on Prime Video was revealed today. The movie, which was directed, produced, and co-produced by R. Chandru and Anand Pandit, also includes a cameo by Shiva Rajkumar and Ravi Basrur’s background score. Beginning on April 14, Kannada-language Prime subscribers will have access to the movie, along with dubs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Before India gained its independence, in 1942, Kabzaa opens with the tale of a common man who, as a result of events, becomes the most feared criminal in the nation in the years that follow. The younger son of a dead freedom fighter, Arkeshwara (Upendra), who also loses his older brother to violence, goes through a turbulent emotional past and present. He develops a terrifying wrath in response to the losses of his family and goes on a rampage to exact retribution, ultimately becoming the feared and unchallenged ruler of the underworld.
The movie’s producer, Anand Pandit, had said of Kabzaa before its March 17 theatrical debut, “The premise of the film is quite interesting. It is a historical thriller that starts soon before independence and covers several pivotal moments in the lives of the main characters. Everyone will be surprised by the breathtaking action in the movie because it has never been seen before. You have all the ingredients for a huge blockbuster when you combine Shriya Saran’s success in Hindi and other regional languages with the star power of Upendra, who is making his short-interval return to the big screen, Kichcha Sudeepa, and Upendra.
In Kabzaa, Shriya Saran, Murali Sharma, Danish Akthar Saifi, John Kokken, and Anup Revana were all featured in addition to Nawab Shah, Murali Sharma, Suneel Puranik, Sudha, B Suresha, and others. The film was directed by AJ Shetty, while Ravi Basrur wrote the score.
