Numerous staff from Twitter’s marketing and communications department in India were let go on Friday, according to reports, which also stated that layoffs had occurred across a number of industries. Twitter is currently owned by Elon Musk.
According to some sources, the marketing and communications team as a whole was sacked.”A lot of people have been fired, but it hasn’t been proven that the entire team has left. People with knowledge of the situation told that the marketing and communications department firings were “happening globally.”
Twitter India has not yet made a comment or confirmed the layoffs. Additionally, earlier today, sources claimed that the social media behemoth would let its staff members know if they would be retained or not by 9 am Pacific Time, or 6:30 pm IST.
After purchasing Twitter last month, Musk fired a number of people, including key executives including the CEO Parag Agarwal and the head of the company’s legal, policy, and trust, Vijay Gadde. While employees aired their anger at the layoffs on the website, #OneTeam trended throughout the day.
