The most recent Netflix release from Dinesh Vijan, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, is creating a worldwide uproar as it climbs to the top 10 trending titles in 61 nations. After two weeks of its release, the Maddock Productions production—which has received a staggering 29 million hours of viewing worldwide—became the most-watched Indian film on Netflix. The movie is currently No. 2 on Netflix internationally.
During 14 days of its release, the top 3 international hits from India were Gangubai Kathiawadi (22.1 million viewership hours), RRR (25.5 million), and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga (29 million watch hours).
Director Ajay Singh previously remarked, “I am really happy by this reception from the audiences. Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga has received so much love and acclaim since it debuted on Netflix. Creating this unique heist-hijack thriller felt risky at the time, but now that consumers are more accepting of edgy content and streaming services like Netflix are promoting it, directors like me have more freedom to express their ideas. Together with a potent ensemble cast, Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal both delivered enthralling performances. I want the worldwide box office performance of this movie would continue.
In the story, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, an air hostess, and her business partner Beau go on a journey to steal diamonds in order to escape a loan shark’s grasp. As the plane carrying the jewels gets involved in a hostage scenario, the heist goes horribly wrong.
