The Great Indian Rescue, starring Akshay Kumar, now has a premiere date. According to the most recent update from the producers, the film, which was formerly known as Capsule Gill, is scheduled to open in theaters on October 5 of this year. Tinu Suresh Desai is the director of the movie, which is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, and Ajay Kapoor.

The Great Indian Rescue is based on the true story of the late Jaswant Singh Gill, the former additional chief mining officer, who, in 1989, in Raniganj, West Bengal, saved the lives of 65 people who were trapped in a flooded coal mine. Last year, the film was filmed in Yorkshire. Akshay Kumar will portray the role of Gill in the movie, which also features Parineeti Chopra in a crucial role.

Since no other Bollywood film is scheduled to be released on October 5, the decision to choose that date as the release date has ensured that The Great Indian Rescue would receive a solo release, at least for the time being. Bawaal, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, will debut on October 6 one day later, but it will be available only on OTT.
