Actor Adivi Sesh responded to the criticism of The Kashmir Files by IFFI 2022 jury chair Nadav Lapid, calling it “propaganda, disgusting,” as he prepares to release his upcoming Telugu film HIT 2. Sesh claimed that the remark lacked much propriety.
Sesh discussed the remark made by Israeli director and jury chairman Nadav Lapid in an interview. “In order to influence the audience’s emotions into feeling anything, we added a background score to a situation that would never happen inThe comment was “certainly not great civility,” he continued. But I don’t have the right to comment on how he feels or doesn’t feel, Sesh said.
Major, Sesh’s most recent film, was shown at IFFI 2022 as part of the Indian Panorama section. It is based on the life of the late Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan.The Israeli director described the movie as disgusting propaganda that “disturbed” the jury on Monday. Lapid might be seen criticizing the movie in a popular festival video. As of yet, the festival’s organizers have declined to comment on the situation life.
Meanwhile, Lapid’s criticism of the movie has not been warmly received by the general public. Naor Gilon, Israel’s ambassador to India, has requested that the director apologizes to Indians over his remark.
The Kashmir Files, a film by Vivek Agnihotri, is based on the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley. The movie, which had a low budget and no stars in the cast, ended up being one of the highest-grossing Hindi movies of the year.
