100 GIRLFRIENDS

100 GIRLFRIENDS: Fans all over the world are now looking ahead to what the remainder of the year will hold for the industry as we draw closer to the finish of the 2023 Winter anime schedule.

While news about Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, the conclusion of Attack on Titan, and Demon Slayer season 3 will likely dominate the conversation, fans are also rejoicing over the announcement that the anime adaptation of the 100 Girlfriends manga will debut later this year.

AN ADAPTATION OF 100 GIRLFRIENDS ANIME FOR RELEASE IN 2023

Finally announced on March 13 was the anime adaptation of the manga serial 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really Love You.

The anime adaptation’s exact release date has not been made known, however, it has been stated that the series will begin airing later in 2023, perhaps in October on the Fall broadcast schedule.

The book 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You relates the tale of Rentarou Aijoi, a high school student who had a crush on 100 different girls, all of whom had rejected him exactly 100 times.

Rentarou, who is understandably discouraged by the lack of romance in his lie, prays to a god of dating in hopes of finding a girlfriend in high school until the god unexpectedly appears to him. There is a caveat, though, when the god promises that he will find 100 soulmates in high school.

Any of his purported soulmates who don’t get into a relationship with him pass away! In order to locate his one true soulmate and keep all 100 females alive, a conflicted Rentarou must now find love in all the right (wrong?) places.

The anime version of 100 Girlfriends will be made by Bibury Animation Studios, which has also worked on Prime Doll, Grisaia, Azur Lane, and The Quintessential Quintuplets.

Among the 100 Girlfriends cast members are:

Rentarou Aijou played by Wataru Katou and Karane Inda by Miyu Tomita
On the official website for the television show, Kaede Hondo, who plays Hakari Hanazono Katou, stated, “Ever since I heard about the audition for this job, I thought “Oh, it would be so irritating if someone else got the part. I’m excited to have this chance because if I receive it, I’ll be able to see a new perspective.
